Events @ Intern

The most memorable event @ Pasir Panjang Tamil Methodist Church:  While the full-timer managed the audio console from the back of the church, another intern and I were positioned at the front near the podium below the stairs, to support the performers at the wedding ceremony. As the A2, my responsibilities included handling the microphones, adjusting the monitors if needed, replacing batteries when necessary, and communicating the band's requirements (that were right beside me) to the full-timer at the back. The scariest moment communicating to the performers and trying to blend into the background as the wedding mass goes on.

The most exciting event @Paradox Hotel's Dinner and Dance: Here I was more of a stagehand as I was tasked with moving items up and down the stage, and handling microphones. It was entertaining and a new insight as to how corporate celebrations go. It was also intriguing to see a little "magic trick" , the buzzer on stage when pressed would do a wheel spin of names- but really it was man operated via the laptop.

The most recent event @NUS Sports Hall: Assistant audio operator and Stage hand.
Operating right behind the stage, I assisted by managing microphone stands, DI boxes, and cable management for the performing artists and guest DJ. I also handled pre-show music playback for the NUS students when the doors opened. Being seated alongside the audio mixer and the lighting board gave me great first hand experience into the real time workflow and coordination required to run a smooth live show.

An intriguing event @ MBS Orchid Ballroom for the CBAC. 
Working as part of a subcontracted AV team at Marina Bay Sands provided an incredible behind the scenes look into a larger scale event production. A day ahead of the show, our crew handled the load in, setup, and testing of our speakers and monitor systems. On show day, while the full time engineers manned the audio and visual aspects, I was able to observe real time show control and technical execution up close. The experience offered valuable insight into how the various crews and venue staff collaborate during rehearsals to align timing and deliver a seamless live experience.
